This experimental pre-test post-test research study was conducted to find out the impact of interactive teaching on English language self-efficacy level of government higher secondary school students. The objectives of the study were (a) To find out the impact of interactive teaching on English language self-efficacy level of government higher secondary school students of district Mansehra. (b)To examine the effect of interactive teaching with different self-efficacy levels. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, from already available existing research tools, English language self-efficacy level scale, was modified by researcher under the guidance and supervision of the supervisor and the committee of experts. This modification of the research tool, was done in connection with researcher’s local research requirements. English Language self-efficacy level scale contained thirty statements, fifteen positive and fifteen negative. It covered six areas which were reading, writing, speaking, listening, effort and motivation. Each area contained five statements while each statement had five point scales. The points on the scale were strongly disagree (SDA), disagree (DA), not sure (NS), strongly agree (SA), and agree (A). For positive statements, strongly agree had 5 scores, agree had 4, not sure had 3, disagree had 2, and strongly disagree had 1 score, while for negative statements strongly disagree had 5, disagree had 4, not sure had 3, agree had 2, and strongly agree had 1 score. Reliablity of English language self-efficacy scale was determined on post-test data by using Cronbach’s alpha co-efficient formula. The calculated value of Cronbach’s alpha co-efficient was 0.925. The research tool was administered, pre-test and post-test data was collected and was analyzed and interpreted. Pre-test scores showed that the mean scores of the two groups were nearly the same while the post treatment data showed a marked difference between the mean scores of the two groups. The treatment proved its usefulness by raising English language self-efficacy level of the taught as compare to the traditional teaching. Interactive teaching because of its practical usefulness be used instead of traditional teaching.
