Cardiac cancer or heart cancer is a rare type of cancer arises in the heart. The aim of the study was to characterize the pathological features of heart cancer, a recently recognized variant of cancer. Cancerous (malignant) tumours that begin in the heart are most often sarcomas, a type of cancer that originates in the soft tissues of the body. The vast majority of heart tumours are non-cancerous (benign). Heart cancer is extremely rare. A review of more than 12,000 autopsies identified seven cases of primary cardiac tumour — an incidence of less than 0.1 percent. On average nearly one case of heart cancer is seen each year.
ABSTRACT.\nThis study investigates the role of corporate governance in the growth of Nigerian Banks. A critical review of the situation in the Nigerian corporate environment shows that there have been several cases of abuse of trust by board of directors in some banks, which can be reduced through corporate governance. This study employs Correlation analysis to analyze result generated from the questionnaire administered to bank staff on the subject. The findings reveal that the problems of corporate governance in the Nigerian banking sector include: instability of board tenures, board squabbles, ownership crises, high level of insider dealings. While\nthe weaknesses of corporate governance have been identified to include ineffective board oversight functions, disagreement between boards and management giving rise to board squabbles, lack of experience on the part of the Board of directors members and weak internal control. It is therefore recommended that issues bordering on poor corporate governance which come to notice should be promptly tackled while customers should report such issues to regulatory authorities.
Cultural creative tourism can not only satisfy the invisible spirit demand of tourists, but also cater to transition tendency from visible to invisible demand of tourists. Cultural creative tourism has huge potential for exploitation in China. However, due to the late start, it has not yet realized rapid development in Heilongjiang Province. By using the SWOT analysis method, this paper explores the development status of cultural creative tourism in Heilongjiang Province from four dimensions including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, aims to help understand the status quo of cultural creative tourism based on the particular context of Heilongjiang Province in northeast China. Finally, based on the SWOTs identified, the eight critical strategies could be useful for Heilongjiang Province to promote its future development of cultural creative tourism at the strategic level and to provide certain references to the development of cultural creative tourism.
This paper examines the dynamic linkages between economic growth, household consumption, domestic investment and public expenditure in Malaysia by adopting ARDL approach for the period of 1960-2010 based on Keynesian and Wagner’s law hypothesis. We have also created two dummies variables in the model to capture two major economic crises: Asian Financial Crisis 1997-1998 and Global Financial Crisis 2008-2009. The empirical result showed that there is a long run relationship exists in the model proposed. Mixed evidence is found for the short run but the variables are mostly significant for the long run elasticity. The contribution of consumption is said to be the largest followed by gross domestic investment and public expenditure. The empirical finding signal that most of the policies used by the government are effective and able to stimulate economic growth in the long run and it is able to be sustained it even during the bad time.
We report the case of a 21-year-old man who complained of leg weakness, in whom severe hypokalemia was detected during routine laboratory examinations and the case of a 43 year old woman, in chronic treatment with amiodarone for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation who presented with adynamia and marked hypokalemia. After excluding other causes of acute muscle weakness and hypokalemia of other causes, we documented in both cases thyrotoxicosis induced kypokalemia with thyreotoxic periodic paralysis (TPP). TPP as the underlying cause was suggested by suppressed thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), elevated free T3 and free T4, and the presence of TSH-receptor antibodies (TRAB in the first case). Treatment with intravenous potassium resulted in a rapid resolution of symptoms in the first case, but antithyroid drugs were mandatory.
Abstract\nThe aim of the study was to show the effect of the addition of different levels (0.2-0.6 g/t) of the new preservative «Primix-Forsil» on the chemical composition, general nutritional value and preservation of the silage when preparing it from green mass of corn.\nThe study examined the new microbiological preservative «Primix-Forsil», which is a synergistic association of the strains of Lactobacillus acidophilus (2х109 CFU/g), Lactobacillus plantarum (1х109 CFU/g), Lactobacillus fermentum (5х109 CFU/g) and Bifidobacterium bifidum - (3х109 CFU/g).\nGreen corn samples were ensiled with the preservative and without it (the silages were processed in 3-liter plastic bottles). The effect of the preparation on the composition and nutritive value of the corn silage (dry matter, crude protein, crude fat and crude cellulose) was studied as well. The chemical composition of the silage samples varied depending on the level of the preservative «Primix-Forsil» added to them. The testing of the samples showed a significant difference between the sample of the silage supplemented with the preservative and the sample without it. The dry matter content negatively correlated depending on the quantity of the preparation added to the samples. In the silos which were supplemented with the conservation additive the preservation of the protein was higher than in the control sample by 0.23-0.85%; the highest level of fat was observed in the sample which was supplemented with the \"Primix-Forsil\" at the level of 5.5 g/t. The studies showed that the sample of corn silage that was supplemented with the preservative «Primix-Forsil» at the level of 6.5 g/t had better organoleptic characteristics and provided high quality silage.
