The present investigation evaluated the pre-Hispanic food called \"nicuatole\" based on corn, from the Central Valleys region of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The main objective was to provide information on its physicochemical and nutritional composition. The sample was prepared based on the traditional endemic recipe of the San Agustín Yatareni, Oaxaca population. To determine the physicochemical composition, 10 g and 3 g samples were used for the tests (pH and density) and nutritional tests (moisture, proteins, lipids, minerals, and carbohydrates) based on the methods described by the Association of Official Analytical Chemistry (AOAC). As a result, it was obtained that it has a pH of 6.18 and a density of 1.0812 g*ml-1. The main results of the proximal analysis and the chemical composition of \"nicuatole\" were 2.1325% protein; 1.54% ash; 66.3738% humidity content; 0.7563% lipids; 9.6271% carbohydrates; 13.1731% fiber. The pre-Hispanic food known as \"nicuatole\" can be considered a healthy alternative for the Mexican population.

Icelanders have been at the forefront when it comes to digital development and are quick to adopt and adapt to technological changes and innovations. The digital world is increasingly becoming a more significant part of our daily lives, resulting in changes in people\'s and companies\' habits and customs. The fourth industrial revolution, digital transformation and digital development are terms that have been discussed in recent years. There are considerable changes ahead in terms of digital adaptation and what this should be for companies to be competitive. Digital transformation is a buzzword today and is frequently discussed. However, only some understand what the term means, and clarification of the term, as well as of other things related to digital development, is needed. In this study, we discuss the difference between digital transformation and digital development and what is necessary for digital transformation to be successful. The subject was approached from perspective of change management and leadership studies. We sought to answer the following research question: \"What is the role of leaders in digital transformation?\" To answer this question, the authors reviewed peer-reviewed articles, both domestic and foreign, and reached a conclusion based on them. Results indicate that digital leadership is becoming increasingly important within companies and plays a key role in business transformation. A leader must have an overview of where the company is heading to drive the transformation forward and where the company is at any given time in the digital environment to be a digital leader.

This problem that this theoretical paper examines is the decolonisation of History as a subject in South African schools. The research question posed is: Why is decolonisation of the school curriculum important? We draw from a combination of the African philosophy, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, and African philosophy of education to foreground our study. African philosophy combines in theory and practice wisdom and psychology with its mode of operation within a universal system of humane values. It interconnects the past, present, and future tenses of time and combines finite and infinite time through ancestral remembrance (misunderstood as ancestral worship). The devolution of the philosophy takes place through generational agency in the oral tradition. We make the case for Africentric content and form in rewriting History. The study recommends that the primary purpose of history must be fulfilled by explaining the past, truthfully, from the perspective of Africans with race, colour, class and gender as the embedded factors of the processes of societal development and maldevelopment.

The main purpose of the present work consists in the study of the influence of electronic power supply\nof High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamp by square wave form with variable short current drop and the\neffects on the mercury lamp properties. The acquisition of the arc current and arc voltage enables us to\ninvestigate the influence of this power supply on the electrical characterization such as the behavior of\nthe lamp conductance. A comparison between simulations and measurements of HID lamps confirms\nthe agreement between the electric model and the experiment.

This study was conducted to study the effect of heat cooking at 100 oC on methomyl, oxamyl and carbosulfan residues of spiked tomato juice. In a previous study on carbamate pesticides residues in tomato juice, for the same authors, it was found that most of the tomato juice samples contained methomyl residues, but less than the maximum residue limits according to EU-pesticides MRL, while Oxamyl and carbosulfan residues were not detected in any of the tested tomato juice samples. Heating at 100 oC for 30 min led to reduction percentages of 72.63%, 88.66% and 100%, respectively. However, the reduction percentages of the studied carbamate residues were increased with increasing time of exposure. Heat cooking treatment was found to be the most efficient treatments to reduce oxamyl in spiked samples significantly after 30 min. Heat treatment degraded this pesticide completely after 15 and 30 min, respectively.

Background & objective: Human nutrition worldwide is largely dependent on bread. Quality of bread is dependent on the method of baking. Application of sourdough is a traditional way to improve quality and nutritional value of bread. Sourdoughs are a great source of diverse Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) with antifungal and antiropiness activities. Many researchers used different species of LAB to demonstrate their effect on bread quality. In this study we used 6 Iranian Lactobacillus strain at different fermentation conditions. \nMaterials & Methods: Each strain and the most common fungi responsible for bread spoilage were grown routinely. Sourdoughs were prepared using each LAB, pH values & Titration of the Acidity (TTA) was determined and experimental and control breads were baked. Antifungal activity and bread sensory of each LAB was tested. \nResults: L. delbrueckii and L .fermentum had the strongest antifungal activity with large clear zones and no growth around the colonies. The most increase in TTA was noted in samples prepared with Lactobacillus delbrueckii and L. sanfranciscensis. Final values for sourdoughs fermented with each of 6 strains were significantly higher comparing to that of common sourdough. Application of 10% w/w L. delbrueckii in sourdough resulted in best aroma, taste, and texture. \nConclusion: The present study confirmed that addition of sourdough fermented by Iranian LAB caused a distinct change in the properties of the dough, specifically indicating that L.delbrueckii is a suitable starter for wheat sourdough and bread production. L. delbrueckii can successfully perform sourdough fermentation and produce good quality bread.

The aim of this qualitative study was to examine and compare the metaphors of Primary Schools Secondary Grade Student’s produces about the European Union. There were total 399 Primary Schools Secondary Part Student’s involved in this study. At the beginning the researchers wanted the participants to fill out a form in which they were supposed to express their opinions about the European Union. The students tried to express that they see the EU as an institution, as a community of states, a community of civilizations. The students tried to explain the EU more with positive concepts like future, development, democracy, freedom, success. However, they produced negative metaphors like dead end, abyss, colonist, difficulty, utilitarian, blankness.

The pulse beetle, Callosobruchus chinensis (L.), (Coleoptera: Bruchidae) is the most widespread and destructive major insect pest of stored legumes. Current practices for managing stored product pests using chemical fumigants provide only marginal control and cause environmental problems. The present study reports the use of two plant constituent compounds, limonene and linalool, as alternatives for managing this pest. The toxicity of these compounds in two doses was evaluated by fumigant toxicity bioassay on the adults of C. chinensis inside Plexiglas cylinders under the temperature of 25±1°C, relative humidity of 60±5%, photo period of 16:8 (light: dark). After 24 hours, pure limonene resulted 8.66±1.91% and 21.33±1.91% at 10 and 20 μl.L-1air concentrations, while untreated control treatment showed nil mortality. In the bioassay, linalool at both 10 and 20 μl.L-1 concentrations were found to be the most effective compound with 100% mortality. This study demonstrated that linalool has great fumigant toxicity at this low dose against this stored product pest and thus has the potential as an alternative for the common synthetic fumigants.

The objective of this work is to develop and implement an expert system for CT-scan brain images. The proposed method categorizes the subject into three categories namely normal, benign and malignant. This work presents intensity invariant local image features using Gabor wavelet texture analysis and designs a new combined artificial neural network model for an automated medical image diagnosis and classification. In the design of combined artificial neural network, different type of neural networks has been trained using different architectures and different training parameters. The first level neural networks are implemented for the diagnosis of brain tumor into different categories using the Gabor texture features as input. To improve the efficiency of the model, the output of the first level neural networks are used as input for the training of the second level neural networks. The experimental results of the combined artificial neural networks model show better performance than single neural network models in terms of its \naccuracy, sensitivity and specificity.

Islamic banks obtained substantial portion of their deposits in form of Profit-Sharing (Mudharabah) contract from depositors called Investment Account Holders (IAH) with or without restrictions as to where the management of the bank should invest their funds and should the bank perform poorly financially, these depositors may lose not only the expected returns on their investment but also their deposits (principal) without recourse and contemporarily, corporate social performance affects the financial and economic performance of companies. This paper explores the corporate social performance of Islamic banks by examining the relationship between Investment Account Holders, and ethical Identity disclosures as a measure of corporate social performance. To undertake this study, ethical disclosures in 5 years annual reports (2007 to 2011) of 16 Islamic banks in Malaysia and 5 Islamic banks in Bahrain were examined using content analysis and the data obtained was processed using SPSS version 20.0. Based on our analysis of the results, we found that there is significant positive relationship between IAH and Ethical disclosures. Therefore, we conclude that IAH may have significant influence over the corporate social performance of Islamic banks.
